Finals Week

Three fun things happened during the last week of the semester:

1) Eviction Threat - Our apartment received a note from apartment management threatening to evict us if we didn't pay up a few hundred bucks of late rent. It turns out that one of our rent checks was credited to the wrong apartment. Still, it was fun to see the notice on our door after a long, stressful day at school.

2) Finding a sound mixer - During a study break outside the library, I noticed a cardboard box marked "TRASH." I looked inside and saw this puppy in it. I made a mental note to take it back to the apartment at the end of the day, but completely forgot. I remembered a while after getting back to my place, while talking to Caleb. He's a sound geek and was totally down for going back to campus and retrieving it with me. We made the drive back to the treasure field at one in the morning and picked it up - wet from the rain but still pretty. And then we searched for a late-night fast food joint to reward ourselves, but all we could find was a Carls Jr. that only served 99 cent chicken sandwiches. Weak. Not even Taco Bell was open. Check out our new board.

3) The Swishy Pants Army - My friend Dustin assembled a small group of Talbot students to march through the library in loud windpants. The rules were simple: 1) never talk about the Swishy Pants Army, 2)walk loud, 3)no talking or laughing. We made our way through every floor of the building and got a mixed reaction; some people thought it was hilarious and others didn't appreciate it so much. Lisa captured some of the fun:

The next one should be with swishy pants and swishy windbreakers! The power walk arm movements combined with swishy windbreakers would increase the volume and annoyance levels tenfold! Just don't throw your groins out.

Good job on the mixer btw... so does it work? I bet you could send it back to Behringer to get an out-of-warranty repair on it for a reasonable price. Then you could resell on ebay for a nice profit and buy as much Carl's Jr and Taco Bell as it would afford.
